My Moviestar Planet Blog: What is Retired / Rare clothing?

Retired clothing (or "rare" clothing) is a group of clothing items in Moviestar Planet that are no longer obtainable by regular means. These items were all once sold in the shop but have since been removed.

History

The "Geometric Skirt" was previously a retired item, however, it was added back into shops (500 sc) not long after its removal. It's believed that it was added back because of the response from the community.
Several retired items return in rare week themes during 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Many items during the 2015 rare week were available for various lengths of time due to bugs.
The 2014 theme "I Love Paris" added the "Nerds" glasses back into stores with an increased price (nerd glasses 1000 sc).
In the 2014 shop update, some items returned to stores.

Trivia

Some of these items are entirely unavailable on select servers that were created after the retirement of said items.
Throughout most of 2012 many of these items were easily obtainable with two accounts due to a bug that has since been patched.
Many players feel the value of these items has gone up, particularly with tattoos as they're one of the most popular.
Some people believe some items were moved for looking too inappropriate.
During 2014 and some time in 2015, many users found an error in the game that was able to create rares with the help of a program.
